xxxxxThere was a time, decades ago, that Douglas Sullivan could've been somebody. One of the rising stars of his high school class back in the 60s, everyone expected him to go on to Major League Baseball, or otherwise make something of himself. Senior year, however, the fire in him just seemed to die, and that bright light faded before it ever had a chance to really shine. He never made anything of himself, working most of his years at a local liquor store in Aleswich, a drunk and bitter old man that vanished fairly recently, leaving behind a suicide note.
xxxxxThere's another Douglas Sullivan in town, though - one that claims he's the old man's son. He seems a bit young for that, but nobody's really looked into it too closely, even if they knew the drunk himself. When he first got into town, he seemed like something've a shiftless hoodlum, but lately he's been cleaning up his act, and rumor even has it that he's opening a store in the mall with money from some local venture capitalist.
