Named for the prominent Dunlin family, it's been a common green for the city of Aleswich for as long as any can remember. It remains a well used and integral part of the city and numerous gatherings and events are hosted there.

Dunlin Park: Student Art Fair
xxxxxEver since Aleswich Reach University began to adjust it's curriculum to more esoteric studies. It's had a growing number of students who produce art. Either pictures, paintings and other traditional forms. To those whom create statues, jewelry and performance art. As a way to provide a living experience for these students and the city at large, the student authority organized the "Student Art Fair". Dunlin Park: All Hallow's Eve Faire
xxxxx"Come one, come all! On the spookiest day of the year Aleswich celebrates the rumors and stories of it's past in the park. Where else can you and your family get painted up like a ghost? See a witch? Or have your fortune's read by one of the city's practitioners! Musical entertainment provided by local bands, and the nearby University Hall is renovated into a haunted house for safe indoor trick-or-treating for the kids. Remember to compete for the year's best pumpkin!"

xxxxxSuch is the official advertisement. Due to the location of the University and the wide relatively safe area of the park. Is a popular location for Halloween celebrations. Despite the city's attempts to scrub out references to possible witch trials, cults and other darker parts of the city's history. This one day during the year all the rumors are dragged out and let run wild. Costumes and scares fill the park with torches and startled screams.

Vegiesmarket.jpg

xxxxxOfficially accepted by the city, and running annually since 1963, the Dunlin Park Farmer's Market is a hold over from the colonial days when local craftsmen and farmers would gather to sell their wares from over the entire county. Though trucks and polyurethane tents have replaced wagons and canvas it still remains a popular and well patronized event. Operating mainly from 9am to just after noon, or when all the vegetables are sold. Over time it's become a common weekend destination for locals and out of town visitors.

xxxxxOne can find anything from fresh fruits and vegetables, to baked or preserved goods, as well as wood and needle work and other crafts. Due to the importance of the fishing industry on the area, it's also quite likely to find fresh fish and seafood sold right next to a honey or chair merchant. Making the market and endless and ever changing view of the products and industriousness of the city's residents.
